Comments from Warren R. Luhrs describe this fine yacht best: “The conception was to design a fast sleek yacht that was comfortable, well thought out and appointed. From the experiences we gained from our successful 40’, we put the program to work. Concentrating on a spacious boat designed to sleep two couples in privacy with a well thought out deck and cockpit arrangement. The result was most pleasing. From the ease she has in a seaway, to the balanced helm, to the sleek soft lines of her cabin and cockpit. She offers the style and grace of a larger yacht with the speed and performance of a custom built boat. I am pleased with every aspect of the Legend 45 and know you will be too once you’ve walked her decks and sailed her.”
When you go below on this boat you instantly get the feeling of comfort and surprising elegance that was far ahead of her time, normally reserved for more modern yachts. She has 6’8" headroom, rich new, ultra-leather upholstery, a teak & holly sole, custom counter tops, and numerous ports and opening hatches giving her an abundance of natural light and ventilation. The design incorporates a two staterooms and two head layout that affords excellent separation and privacy. There are also three additional berths in the main salon for a total of seven berths
Descending the companionway ladder you will notice that the main salon is very bright and airy. The L shaped galley is to starboard and outboard of the companionway ladder/engine. The chart table & navigation area is on the port side opposite the galley. Aft of the navigation area is a large head with Vacuflush toilet and separate shower area.
Forward of the navigation area and galley is the main salon. An "L-shape" dinette with table is to starboard. It will seat 8-10 people comfortably. Directly across to port is an "L-shape" settee. Moving all the way forward is the private master cabin which consists of a large Pullman style berth to starboard. There is excellent headroom (6’4”) and ample storage. Directly opposite to port is the vanity with mirrored lockers above, storage under, hot and cold pressure water. Directly aft is a unique writing desk with contoured corner seating area, bulletin board and an abundance of storage in drawers and lockers. The master head is all the way forward and features a stand-up shower with hot and cold pressure water, manual marine head and privacy door. This cabin has two (2) opening overhead hatches providing ample ventilation. The entire forward cabin area is separated from the main salon and provides maximum privacy
Going back into the mail salon, Aft of the galley is the guest cabin with a queen size berth, storage, hanging space. This cabin is nicely sized with good reading lights, overhead hatches and stainless steel opening ports.
Like elsewhere on this boat, the galley shows that this yacht has been turned up a notch. There is abundant counter space which has been resurfaced with custom counter tops. The Legend 45 has all the utilitarian items you would find at home. A three burner, gimbaled stove and oven, stainless steel double sink, easy access refrigerator/freezer! Work space is bountiful with enough room for two chefs and stowage is complete with shelves and drawers located for easy access. All of this is sure to satisfy any culinary delights one may have.
