Description
Just reduced another $ 5,000. A heavy cruiser with radar, autopilot, windvane, good tankage and lots of miscellaneous parts and equipment for sale at a bargain price. This classic 37 foot cutter yawl (49 feet LOA) is hauled and serviced every year and is in solid condition. A completely rebuilt diesel engine installed in early 2003. A new shaft was installed in January of 2004 and the prop was reconditioned. At that time the chaulking was inspected and rechaulked as needed. Long-time owner has continuously maintained the boat. History of ownership back to the 1930's is available. The boat was built by the Lester Stone yard in San Francisco.
The hull was reported sound by a qualified surveyor in November of 2003. In the short analysis provided by the Marine Surveryor he said: "This is a true California Classic though modifications have been made over the years. The Stone yard is very well respected and still in business today."
This is an estate sale and the boat will be sold "as is". All offers will be considered. The boat is currently on a Newport Beach Mooring. The mooring is also for sale.

Accommodations
The interior is wide-open with six feet of headroom. Entering three steps down the companionway, the galley is to port and an enclosed, tiled head with shower is to starboard. Moving forward is a wide settee/berth on both sides, then storage and hanging lockers, and the v-berth all the way forward.
There are six opening ports, two non-opening ports, two large windows in the cabin trunk just forward of the cockpit, and one overhead hatch. The upholstery and carpeting are in good condition, as is the interior wood and paint. The ceiling is teak and there is additional teak decor throughout.
Galley
The galley has a deep stainless steel sink and a stainless basin with pressure water and a new Sharp microwave.

Electrical
110 volt AC system and 12 volt DC system. New Lewco automatic, multi-setting battery charger. Four new 8D batteries installed in August of 2001. Wiring and electrical panel were redone about four year ago.
There is a portable gas generator which is normally mounted in the cockpit which is very effective.
Deck and Hull
The length of the hull is about 37 feet. There is a eight foot bowsprit and a four foot stern extension for the windvane and tp provide an extended purchase for the sheet block for the long mizzen boom.
The boat is hauled and inspected every year and is solid. The last haulout was in January of 2004. At that time the chaulking was inspected and rechaulked as needed. She was completely refastened about twelve years ago. At that time new sister frames were added. In April of 2003 the wood decks were serviced, waterproofed and covered with fiberglass to eliminate leaks.
Sails and Rigging
Sails are in good shape. Sail inventory includes main, mizzen, storm mizzen, four headsails, two stormjibs and a gennaker. The main is 50 feet tall and the boom is 20 feet. The mizzen is about 32 feet tall with a 10 foot boom. Stainless steel mast steps on both masts. Rigging for the main was checked and repaired/replaced as needed about eight year ago, the mizzen rigging was done about four years ago.
Engine and Mechanical
A 1980 Isuzu 40 hp freshwater cooled diesel was completely rebuilt in early 2003 all the way down to and including a new crackshaft. A new prop shaft was installed in January of 2004 and the prop was reconditioned. New V-drive installed in 1998 and new transmission in 1999. New engine manifolds around 1997.
Other features include new dodger in 2000, a full boat cover, a brand new custom made awning, a self-steering wind vane, two automatic 800 gph bilge pumps (with shaft float switches) plus manual bilge pumps, Force 10 BBQ, canvas covers for dodger and cockpit, deck lights mounted on spreaders and all kinds of extra gear and spare parts.
Hard dinghy and outboard engine (engine is missing prop) are included with boat.
Additional Comments
The boat was built by Lester Stone in San Francisco which has been in business since 1875 and is still in the business of repairing wooden boats.
The boat is on a Newport Harbor mooring which is also for sale.
