Description
MUST SELL NOW. GREAT LIVABOARD. This unique boat may be the only 1947 Owens 42 left in existence. Previous surveys indicate that the vessel has been subject to a continuous program of upgrading and maintenance. Receipts indicate that extensive work was done in 1994 and 1995, but the boat appears to have been somewhat neglected over the last few years. However, the boat is still very sound and the current owner has begun address many of the existing cosmetic problems. This appears to be a solid boat which could be brought back to showroom condition at a fairly reasonable cost. The original nameplates, flag staffs, the stainless steel searchlight and air horns, and similar items are still on board, as are the original Chrysler straight eight cylinder engines, which are operational. More photos are available and can be emailed upon request. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DUE TO HEALTH PROBLEM AS OF AUGUST 20 OWNER MUST SELL IMMEDIATELY. ------------------------------------------- MAKE OFFER ------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Deck and Hull Equipment
Vessel is constructed of 4 sawn mahogany stem and a forefoot tied into a 6 mahogany keelson, framework of 1 x 1 1/4 sawn mahogany frames at 10 centers, covered with 15 x 60 marine plywood on the inner hull and 5 1/2 sawn mahogany planks 1/2 thick on the outer hull. All weather decks are 1 3/4 teak planks over marine plywood. Teak decks were reported to have been replaced in 1994 The boat has most of the original nameplates, the original aircraft style staffs, masts, etc, the original stainless steel searchlight and air horns and so on.
