WELCOME ABOARD

"Pearl" designed by John Alden and built by Cheoy Lee Boatyard in Hong Kong, China. A sturdy, rugged pocket cruiser in immaculate condition, definitely a must see to fully appreciate the elegant teak interior finihes and joinery work.

Tiller steering. Autohelm ST4000 plus. Five winches including three Harken #16 self tailers. Replaced new Yanmar 18.2 hp diesel engine with only 125 hours usage.

Five sails, main, 130% genoa on Harken roller furler (new 2002), trysail, staysail and lapper jib. Garmin GPS 12XL. Standard VHF radio. Bulkhead cockpit mounted Plastimo compass. Specially constructed stainless steel stern pulpit providing two corner seats.

Accommodations and Layout

Sleeps four, two in V-berth in forward cabin, two in settee berths in main salon cabin. Large storage lockers under all berths. There is an outside loading ice box, not currently being used for that purpose, but as storage, bottom removes and gives easy access to the two batteries. Manual marine head under forward port V-berth.

Galley

Going below, down the companionway, the galley is to port and is equipped with a stainless steel sink with bronze hand pump, low wattage food heater/cooler is installed under hinged galley top. Ample storage above and below.

Electronics & Navigation

  • 1) Autopilot - Autohelm ST4000+.
  • 2) Plastimo 4" liquid magnetic spherical, bulkhead mounted compass.
  • 3) Standard Horizon VHF radio.
  • 4) Hand held VHF radio.
  • 5) Speed/Depth - Autohelm ST30 with B66VL bronze transducer.
  • 6) Garmin GPS, Model 12Xl fitted to bulkhead.

Electrical

  • 1) 12 vdc electric system.
  • 2) 110 vac electric system.
  • 3) Two group 27 gel cell batteries.
  • 4) 110 volt smart charger.
  • 5) Most wiring has been replaced with marine grade wiring.
  • 6) New comprehensive electric panel and circuit breakers.
  • 7) Shore power outlet, complete with shorepower cord.

Sails and Rigging

  • Sails:
  • 1) Mainsail by Sutter Sails 1997, still very crisp.
  • 2) 130% Genoa on new Harken roller furling system.
  • 3) Lapper jib by Sutter Sails.
  • 4) Unused Dacron Trysail.
  • 5) Dacron Staysail.

    Rigging:

  • 1) Standing Rigging:
  • All new oversized 3/16 standing rigging with Norseman fittings and new stainless steel chain plates.
  • 2) Running Rigging:
  • All new polyester braid. Lines are lead aft to cockpit.

    Mast & Boom:

  • Mast is Spruce, well maintained and free of cracks or split glue joints. Stainless steel mast head fittings and new spreader brackets.
  • Varnished spruce boom in good condition.

    Winches:

  • 1) Three Harken #16 self-tailing in cockpit, two for sheets, the other on house for main sheet, halyards and traveller.
  • 2) Two original Cheoy Lee mast winches.

Deck and Hull

Hull:Molded fiberglass. Prior owner most recently rebuilt below the waterline with epoxy filled roving/matt. Reportedly considered stronger than new.
Deck: Molded fiberglass and cabin tops were recently gelcoated. Teal covered and completely recaulked. Owner reports no leakage of any kind.

Interior: Teak cabinetry work and teak joinery work plus teak and holly sole. All in excellent condition and adding warmth to the interior.

Note:All new bronze through-hulls and valves

Engine and Mechanical

Yanmar 2GM20F 2 cylinder, fwc, 18.5hp, new 1998 and with only 125 hours of usage. At time of taking these specifications, the owner started up the engine, an immediate start and no smoke.

Owner reports one third gallon per hour at 2,400 rpm.

Access to the engine located center line under companionway is by above(top) and in front by removal of opening panels.

  • 1) The pan beneath engine is self contained to keep any oil from getting into the bilge.
  • 2) Three blade prop.
  • 3) Monel shaft.

  • 6) Speciall constructed stern pulpit with thick wall tubing to provide two seats aft of cockpit (a see all points of vision).
  • 7) New dodger that can be collasped onto cabinet top by removal of two pins.

  • 9) Well vented full cover for entire boat.
