Description

This is a comfortable family cruiser and performance racer with berthing accommodations for six. She is well suited and equipped for local (buoy) racing and offshore racing or cruising.

The Newport 41 was designed by C & C, the Canadian based company as a cruiser/racer (their trade mark amongst others) and built by Capital Yachts in Harbor City, California.

A Perkins 4-107 45hp diesel engine was installed in 1987 and rebuilt by current owners in December 2002.

The interior boast an ample amount of teak in mounted wooden battens and paneling, cabinetry and trim plus teak and holy soles. The U-shaped galley is equipped with hot/cold pressure water, Adler Barbour refrigeration (new December 2001), stainless steel sink plus ample dry storage, utensil and dish space.

Accommodations and Layout

Comfortable accommodations for six.

Coming down the companionway to port is the sizable U-shaped galley, then forward to the salon area with an L-shaped dinette table that lowers to a double berth, then forward through the bulkhead to the head with hand held shower, then forward to the double berthing V-berth. Coming aft to starboard and across from the head are two hanging lockers, then aft through the bulkhead to starboard is a settee, followed by the aft quarter berth with nav station on forward edge.

Galley

Coming down the companionway to port is the well laid out, sizeable U-shaped galley for a boat of this size. Equipped with:
  • 1) Top loading ice box with Adler Barbour refrigeration, new December 2001.
  • 2) Four burner gimballed propane stove with oven.
  • 3) Hot/cold pressure water system.
  • 4) Large stainless steel single sink.
  • 5) Ample storage space for dry goods, dishes and utensils.
  • 6) Excellent counter space.
  • 7) Propane shut off valve.

Fiberglass hull with molded non-skid decks. Aluminum outer toe rails for easy setting of sheet blocks. Also deck mounted track for adjustable car blocks.

Winches-nine:

  • 1) Two Barient #28, two speed primary winches.
  • 2) One house mounted Barient #22 winch by companionway to starboard.
  • 3) A second house mounted Barient #16 winch by companionway to port.
  • 4) Three deck mounted winches, aft of mast.
  • 5) Two mast mounted winches. one Barient #16, the other Barient #22.

    Windlass:

  • Electric windlass with up and down foot pedals.

    Anchors:
