Description
Thirty foot sloop rigged, keel stepped sailboat with 35 foot Newport Harbor mooring for $22,400. Boat sold separately for $14,900. Mooring will not be sold separately. The boat was repowered in 1983 with a two cylinder Westerbeke diesel (aproximately 800 hours) which will do 5.6 knots @ 2250 rpm and 6.7 knots @ 2750 rpm. Electronics includes autopilot, Loran, VHF, depth, speed, log and apparent wind. New standing rigging and running rigging in 1992 and 1993, nine sails including two spinnakers and a spinnaker staysail, seven winches. Good sailing, very well-built boat.

Accomodations
Vee berth with filler forward. Aft to port is enclosed head with sink, with a hanging locker to starboard. Main salon has settees on both sides which double as berths. There is a centerline table in the main cabin which doubles as a chart table and engine box. The galley is aft and to starboard, and a quarter berth aft and to port.
Galley Equipment
Two burner stainless steel CNG stove, sink and ice box.
Electronics and Navigation Gear
Signet combination speed, log, depth, water temperature (new in 1992, Interphase Loran, Kenyon apparent wind, Signet depth, Uniden 12 channel VHF, tachometer, oil pressure, water temp, expanded scale voltmeter, engine hour meter, low oil pressure alarm, high water temp alarm, two Ritchie compasses, First Mate autopilot.
Electrical System
Two 12 volt 85A/H batteries, 55 amp alternator, bonding system connects all onboard metal to zinc anode.
Sails and Rigging
Sloop rigged, keel stepped tall rig, aluminum mast with single spreader. Spinnaker pole and reaching strut. All standing rigging was replaced in 1992. Most running rigging was replace in 1993. Watts mainsail (3 reef points), Murphy & Nye lite #1 (162%), Hood #2 (150%, reefable), North #3 (110%), Ulman #4 (high cut 80%), Hood 1/2 oz spinnaker, Watts 1.2 oz spinnaker, spinnaker staysail, tall boy staysail. 7 Barient winches.
Deck and Hull Equipment
Medium displacement with high ballast ratio and a very strong high aspect ratio rig. Hand laid fiberglass hull with full hull liner, balsa cored hand laid fiberglass deck. Hull was Awlgripped in 1979. The boat was repowered with the Westerbeke diesel in 1983.
Additional Equipment
COMMENTS Designed as a cruiser racer, Avante has an IOR rating of 22.0 (3/4 ton) and a PHRF rating of 162. In 10 to 12 knot winds she will spinnaker reach about 7 knots. In 20 knots of wind she will go to weather with a single reef and # 2 genoa at about 7 knots and will beam reach at 7.5 to 8 knots with the same sail combination. She points very well, stands up to a breeze, and sails well in light air. She is easily single-handed and the helm is easily balanced by trimming the sails.
