Description

US Coast Guard certified for 26, so it has been regularly inpected by the USCG. The boat is being used four months of each year for whale watching in Hawaii. The engine was replaced new in 1992. The interior is the standard layout with the exception that a watertight bulkhead has been installed forward, effectively making the v-berth into a storage area. (It would be easy to remove the bulkhead) Extra equipment includes two liferafts, a generator with almost no hours and electric windlass. This boat is priced WAY below market price mainly because the interior needs a lot of work. (This is a chance to customize your own boat.)

Accomodations

Standard accomodations except for a watertight bulkhead forward which reduces the V-berth into a large storage area. (Note: The bulkhead can be easily removed and much of the wood and trim which was removed to install the bulkhead is still available for reinstallation.) Main salon has head forward. There is a settee and forward-facing navigation station on starboard side of main salon, with U-shaped dinette to port. L-shaped galley is also to port and extends aft into pass-through to aft cabin. Aft cabin has large double berth and private head.

Galley Equipment

Pressure water system, double stainless steel sink and very large ice box. No stove, hot water or refrigeration.

Electronics and Navigation Gear

EPIRB, B&G Harrier knotmeter and log, Hengist Horsa windspeed and windpoint, VHF radio. Tachometer, oil pressure, oil temperature, voltmeter.

Electrical System

110 volt AC system, 12 Volt DC system with 2 - 8D batteries. There is a generator which has been unused except when started as required by Coast Guard inspection.

Sails and Rigging

3 year old mizzen and main which have hardly been used and are in good shape. 110% jib with Harken roller furling. Lewmar self-tailing winches. Backup main, spinnaker pole. May have spinnaker.

Deck and Hull Equipment

Fin keel with skeg hung rudder. Center cockpit with large bimini. Electric windlass, (reported inoperable). Last haulout was June of 1996. Bottom was reported in good shape with only a few minor blisters, which were repaired.

Additional Equipment

Engine was replaced new in 1992. Since then the boat was used everyday for 4 months out of each year for whale watching. Much of running time is at idle. It has been professionally maintained by an experienced charter company with other boats. USCG certified for 26, so it is inspected regularly by the Coast Guard. Some of the extra required equipment includes bilge alarms, upgraded wiring, high lifelines and two emergency liferafts.
