Salto de fe (“leap of faith”) is a charming compact cabin cruiser ready for coastal ventures or weekend island hopping. Her big open aft cockpit with wheel helm and pedestal mounted compass and teak cup holders, and convenient sheet access and stowage, makes for very comfortable passage. The cabin trunk is accessed through an oversized companionway with two-piece acrylic panels and huge sliding hatch panel, which gives a convertible feeling when fully opened. Below, a port-side kitchenette-style galley with 110v mini refrigerator and freezer, has a sink basin and manual water pump for fresh water use. Midship, a settee bench to port compliments the dinette to starboard. Aft of the starboard dinette, a quarter berth extends under the cockpit sole. Forward of the port settee, the systems control station is nestled within the hanging locker credenza fascia. A head is to starboard, separated by substantial teak bulkheads. Twin V-berths convert into a full-size berth, with cushion insert and support panel.

Message from Seller:

“I bought this Catalina a year and a half ago - fulfilling a dream of having my own sailboat and hoping to live aboard. Since then, my dream has grown, so it's time to sell and save for an upgrade!

Since purchasing the boat, I had brand new standing rigging installed (April 2020), along with installing a new mast step. I had professional repairs and upgrades made to the Mainsail and Genoa (April 2020). I replaced spark plugs (December 2020), cleaned and re-installed the carburetor (August 2020), and replaced the shifting cable (September 2020).

The bottom is cleaned every six weeks - divers on a scale of 1-10 (10 being "needs new bottom paint now") it is consistently marked at 5.

A great sailing boat that is also in wonderful condition for those looking for a cozy weekend getaway spot in the harbor. The previous owner used it as his weekend accommodations, and I've spent many long weekends on the boat. During pandemic shutdowns, I was even there for close to a week at a time working remotely and sleeping on the boat!”

Navigation lights work, Interior lights removed (motion-sensor battery operated lights installed), and wiring is still intact. VHF radio stopped receiving a signal this year - cause unknown. It does not appear to be the antennae, so radio may need replacing (I use a handheld).

Catalinas are widely praised for being reliable, easy-to-handle boats perfect for the casual pleasure sailor and for newbies as well - and with a manufacturer still in business, it's much easier to get parts and support than it is for some other makes. And if you're looking for a comfortable place to stay while enjoying your boat, the interior has been kept clean and offers a comfortable v-berth for sleeping as well as the option to lower the dinette table for a berth in the main cabin. It appears there once was a stove that was removed - a mini fridge is in that place now and it will stay with the boat.

Slip fee is already paid for the month of September; registration due November of this year.
