Classic 32’ Sloop
Sail ready with in mast furling main, & furling foresail.
Volvo diesel engine. Bottom painted January 2013.
Construction
Built stiff and strong. Medium displacement boat. Entire hull and deck assembly is locked in a grid of bracing that gives rigidity. Construction that fully bonds together a bed of stringers beneath the sole, longitudinal topside stringers that gird the entire hull above the waterline, and bulkheads at five stations. Put simply, no flex.
The displacement of the boat, relative to its length, is a result of the choice of structural strength and internal equipment.
The skeg of the K32 was designed to eliminate the separation wave which is commonly seen on the weather side towards the stern of a medium displacement boat when heeled over and going fairly fast.
Good appearance, good structural strength, nice accommodations.
Accommodations
Not seen in smaller boats today is the all teak interior. The grain flows evenly from one panel to another. That's because each panel was matched. The joiner work all over the boat is incredibily good.
