Peterson's designed sailing vessels have pioneered many innovations in racing and cruising yachts. In the 1970s, Peterson's designs dominated offshore racing events, with a string of winning high-profile IOR boats. Designed for Jack Kelly, the Kelly-Peterson Formosa 46, of which only 30 were built. As of 2017, hull number 30, the last one built, is currently circumnavigating the globe. Peterson had an attention to detail and quality, So much so, that In the early 1980s Hans Christian Yachts, commissioned Peterson to design their 48 and 52 Christina models. The history is clear, the Formosa 46 has an undisputable, proven set of bones, that will accommodate most any nautical adventure that you can conceive of.

A little about her construction. A production built 46 Peterson design sailing yacht, she is manufactured from reinforced fiberglass hull and deck. Molded in 3⁄4 cut away forefoot keel, rounded bilges, fiberglass rudder, with bronze gudgeons.The galley is aft with a secure countertop “U” shaped. Top load refer/freezer, stainless steel sinks, numerous drawers, lockers, and shelves.

The original single aluminum mast with double aluminum spreaders, and aluminum boom are held in place by the 1x19 stainless steel standing rigging. Many upgrades will be needed. The new owner will be doing what the current owners did when they bought her 25 years ago. Wood, Upgrades, Repairs, Etc.. Plenty of life left in this blue water beauty.
