A true blue water cruiser with a modified full cutaway keel, skeg mounted rudder, engine room with generator, six person Avon liferaft, heavy duty rigging, 65 hp Ford Lehman diesel, radar, and SSB. The interior is in good condition with lots of teak, the teak deck outside has no screw heads showing.
Engines
Accommodations and Layout
Forward is a V-berth and head with shower. The V-berth has a solid door and there is plenty of room to stand and change with the door closed. The head can be entered from either the V-berth or the main cabin. There is a hanging locker and overhead hatch in the V-berth.
The main cabin has a centerline table with fold-down leafs on either side. To port is an L-shaped settee and there is another long settee to starboard. There is good storage under the settees as well as forward. There are several opening ports on each side. Aft of the main cabin to starboard is the galley, to port is the forward facing navigation station and the passthrough to the aft cabin.
The aft cabin has a private head with separate stall shower, an offset double berth, a small seating area, and lots of storage including a vanity and four drawer dresser.

Sails and Rigging
Deck and Hull
In 2001 the bottom was completely redone with epoxy barrier coat, the rudder was rehung and all through-holes were replaced.
Engine and Mechanical
According to the logs the first owner used it extensively with many cruises including New Zealand and sold it after about ten years. The second owner had it until 2001 but almost never used it, although every month he ran the engine for one hour. The current owner made significant engine upgrades, including new exhaust sytems and risers and new plumbing, and has used it primarily as a weekend condo.
Additional Comments
The boat was surveyed about three years ago and all recommendations were completed. We believe the boat was designed by Salthouse Marine in New Zealand but was built in Korea or Taiwan. About two dozen of the these boats were manufactured in the 80's under the name of Venus. We also believe the same boat was sold as a Celestial 46 out of China using the same molds and design. Celestial also used the same hull design and basic layout for their Celestial 48 and later used the same hull design for the Celestial 50 pilothouse by adding on to the original mold.
