Description

PRICE REDUCED. With twin diesel engines this boat can power at 10 to 12 knots, faster than most trawlers, and has a range of nearly 1000 miles. She has the space of a powerboat both below and on deck. Roller furling and roller main. All the lines run to the helm where there is a foot operated electric winch, so one person can sail the boat without leaving the wheel and with little effort. A recent survey is available.

Accommodations

The pilothouse and salon are at deck level. Forward and down three steps is the lower level with galley, head, cabins and navigation station.

Forward is the owner's cabin with a centerline walkaround double berth with hanging locker to starboard, a built-in chest of drawers to port, storage below and lots of shelving. Aft and starboard is a head with privacy door to forward cabin and a second door to the passageway. The head is quite large and has a separate stall shower area. Across from the head to port is a double berth guest stateroom with hanging locker. Further aft to port is the down U-shaped galley which is open to the salon with a counter above at the salon level. Opposite to starboard is the navigation station.

There is a lot of light and ventilation throughout the lower level, including four opening ports in the owner's stateroom, two opening ports in the head, two opening ports in the guest cabin, and an opening port in both the galley and the navigation station. The sole is teak and holley and in good shape, and there is lots of wood paneling and decor throughout.

The main salon and helm are up three steps. The helm is to starboard and the large counter/table separating the galley and the salon opposite to port. The salon is extends aft to a forward facing settee against the bulkhead. The settee converts to a double berth and there is a large fold-out table which can extend out in front of the settee.

There are huge pilothouse windows on all sides, and there is even a 3 x 6 foot sliding sunroof overhead. The helm has a large upholstered seat, all controls and instrumentation for the engine, and a large foot-operated electric winch. Other features include dark blue carpeting, blue upholstery and lots of wood paneling and decor.

There is also factory-installed air conditioning (the boat was oringinally equipped for use on the Spanish Riveria) but it is inoperative and its condition is unknown. A recent survey (Feb 2001) is available.

Deck and Hull

This boat has a lot of useful deck space. The foredeck is quite large and fairly uncluttered for sunbathing and lounging. It is easily accessible by large protected sidedecks. The cockpit behind the pilothouse is large and has plenty of room for fishing, although the sides and rails are quite high which provides good protection from the wind and sea. A transom door leads to a large, integral swimstep.

The bottom was painted in Novemeber of 2000. All through-holes were redone at that time.

Sails and Rigging

Harken roller furling main and roller furling headsail. All lines run aft and inside the pilothouse where there is a Lewmar 44 foot-operated electric winch.

Both roller furlings were rebuilt three years ago. At that time the rigging was inspected and repaired/replaced as needed. Sails were also redone at that time.

Engine and Mechanical

Twin 85 hp Perkins. The oil and filters are changed every 100 hours. The engine compartment below the salon is roomy and provides good access for engine maintenance. These engines burn about two and a half gallons per hour total, giving the boat a range of close to 1000 miles.

Both engines have dual starting batteries and there an additional 8D house battery. Other features include a Lewco battery charger, an unusually large 20 gallon hot water heater, an electric windlass with lots of chain and rode, and window covers.
