Construction

Full keel, an outside hung rudder with a through transom tiller steering, inboard auxiliary engine and raised deck. The hull & deck are foam sandwiched between layers of unidirectional glass. The structure has proven to be quite strong.

Deck

The cockpit is spacious, nearly eight feet long and extends full beam, with high coamings for lounging against and a foot well for sitting. All lines are led to the forward bulkhead and can be reached from the helm.
The large 175 square foot main accounts for more than 50% of sail area with two reef points. The jib is roller furling. The sails are the salty looking tanbark complementing the classic appearance. The boom and staysail have wishbone spars. All spars are made from sitka spruce. Teak cockpit grate.

Accommodations

The raised deck makes for four feet of headroom below, and the open forward berth features port & starboard cushions measuring 6 feet 6 inches on centerline. Warm wood paneled interior space.
Aft are two child-sized quarter-berths.
Tucked between the V-berth aft is a porta potti conveniently hidden by a removable cover.
Two-burner butane stove, counter space, sink and water pump and icebox.
Continuing the credo of simple is better, the removable sink does not have a drain and is instead just dumped overboard, or in a sealed waste bucket after each use.
Six non-opening ports allow good lighting, a cowl vent forward provides ventilation, and there is plenty of storage forward of the V-berth, under the berths and beneath the cockpit.
