Description
The Pearson 424 Ketch is a William Shaw design built by Pearson Yachts in Rhode Island. They were built in the early 80s, roughly 225 were built. Sea Hero is an aft cockpit cruiser with a Mizzen, a Hood in mast mainsail furling system with a power inhaul and outhaul, and a furled headsail with Furlex roller furling. The bottom features a long keel with internal ballast, with a notch for the prop, and a skeg protected rudder.
424 interior is a tri cabin layout that sleeps 6, 2 in a private double berth aft cabin, 2 in a private forward Vee Berth cabin with a sink, and 2 in expandable salon settee berths port and starboard. The Head/shower compartment is aft of amidships with a separate shower stall. A unique salon companionway yields privacy to the aft cabin quarters when deck access is necessary.
Power is provided by a 56 hp Westerbeke diesel with a vee drive forward. Engine cooling system serviced May 2025. New Batteries May 2025 Other notable features include a Rockna anchor with chain, and a Seawolf electric windlass, self tailing primary winches, and a cockpit dodger with a cockpit awning.
