Description

Classic blue water cutter equipped Baba 30 is ready to set off on her next adventure. A change in the owners plans makes her available for immediate sale.

Accomodations

She features a traditional layout with V-berth forward with shelves, lockers and hanging locker, louvered door to the chain locker. Large overhead hatch and (3)opening ports provide ventilation and daylight. To starboard is the head/shower compartment with vanity mirror and sink, marble counter, toilet and shower, teak cockpit grate. Aft to starboard is a straight bench settee and opposite is the port side settee. The dinette table is fixed on the center line with double leaf table. Aft to port is the U-shaped galley. Opposite is the forward facing chart table, followed by the quarter berth. Companionway is slightly offset to starboard. The interior is done in teak solids and laminates, teak and holly cabin sole with multiple bilge accesses, numerous bronze opening port lights, large butterfly hatch over the salon. Tankage is beneath the settee berths with storage outboard and behind. Screens for port lights and hatches. Varnished solid teak dinette table and teak/holly cabin sole, oil-sanded tongue-and-groove bulkheads, louvered locker doors. The interior is traditional and beautifully finished and maintained.

Galley

The U-galley is to port at the base of the companionway. The forward portion has twin s/s sinks. On the outboard side is storage and a 2-burner stove w/oven In the aft portion there is a the refrigeration compartment.

Hull and Deck

A full keel design with a slightly cutaway forefoot, and keel hung rudder. The canoe-stern hull is a solid FRP layup with molded, simulated planking. Hull stiffness is realized through a series of longitudinal stringers, and hull stiffness is further enhanced by way of main and partial bulkheads bonded to the hull with FRP tabbing. The single-piece FRP deck has teak overlay on the weather decks, the hull-to-deck joint is double flange with raised bulwarks, through bolted and covered with a scarfed teak cap rail.

Sail Handling and Sails

Cutter rigged with aluminum mast and aluminum boom, boom gallows. Standing rigging is 1x19 s/s wire rope with swage fittings attached to outboard chain plates at deck level and s/s mast tangs. Running rigging is primarily braided, led through teak-faced blocks. Genoa and staysail are both hank-on, mainsail slides are on external tracks.
