“Osprey”
1983 Perry 41
Specifications
Description
The Litton Perry 41 was a limited production cruising sailboat designed by renowned sailboat designer Robert Perry. The Litton Perry 41 was built in the Litton yard in Taiwan. The design closely resembles the bottom of the famous Valiant 40, the Passport 40, and the Aloha 41. All of these well proven cruising yacht designs were all designed by Robert Perry and share very similar hull configurations.
The Litton Perry 41 has virtually the same underwater hull design as the Valiant 40 without the canoe transom. Both designs have a long modified fin keel leading to a skeg with a rudder attached. The 41 Perry and the Valiant 40 are built for the rugged demands of offshore cruising with reasonable performance and comfort in mind. Osprey's old Perkins diesel was previously replaced with a Yanmar 50 hp naturally aspirated diesel with a sail drive. The engine currently has 559 hours on the meter, the sail drive was replaced in 2019.
The current owner started preparing his boat for cruising in 2014 and finished his work in 2021. Some of the improvements are listed below.
