Accomodations

The Catalina 36 has a wonderful two cabin layout. As one steps below there is a generous L shaped galley to port, and opposite to starboard is the navigation station with entry to the aft cabin (under the cockpit well) with a double berth. The salon features a small table with two facing seats to starboard with storage outboard, and opposite to port is the large dinette area. The large enclosed head is forward to port, and opposite to starboard is a hanging locker. The large V berth is all the way forward. This particular Catalina 36 has a beautiful teak interior with newer cushions and is very tastefully appointed including a teak and holly cabin sole. The head room is a generous 6 5.

Galley Equipment

The galley features Adler Barbour refrigeration (new in 1996), double stainless steel sinks with pressure hot and cold water, (new water heater), and generous countertop working area. There is a two burner propane gimbaled stove/oven.

Electronics and Navigation Gear

There is a new Autohelm 4000 autopilot interfaced with a new Garmin 45 GPS and with a serial port for laptop PC, Raytheon radar Pathfinder 1200, VHF, 5 Ritchie binnacle mounted compass and Signet sailing instruments featuring windspeed, log, and depth.

Electrical System

12 volt DC system (two batteries) and 110 volt AC system with state of the art "smart" battery charger, shore cord and outlets.

Sails and Rigging

New 135% genoa with Furlex roller furling, mainsail and cruising spinnaker (like new). The mast and boom are aluminum with easy access to the control lines and halyards. Six self-tailing Lewmar winches.

Deck and Hull Equipment

The deck layout is simple and straight forward with generous side decks and a low profile cabin house. A full dodger (new in 1996 with new isinglass in 1999) compliments the front of the cockpit and allows excellent visibility including protection from the elements. Cockpit weather curtains also new in 1996. A swim ladder is incorporated into the stern rail to allow access to the cockpit, which has complete seat cushions. Other items include sonic barnacle system, life sling, new anchor SS bow extension, and bow and stern anchors with rode and chain.

Additional Equipment

This boat is powered by a reliable Universal diesel with excellent service access. The engine was overhauled in 1998 and many of the associated machinery has been replaced over the last three years including the transmission, heat exchanger, exhaust system and control cables. There is a holding tank aboard of approximately 20 gallons.
