Hull & Deck
The Peter Cole designed Nantucket 38 features a solid FRP hull lamination with an internally ballasted modified fin keel with an aft cutaway, then a molded skeg and skeg hung rudder, affording excellent tracking in a seaway. Think feathers on an arrow. The prop is between the keel and rudder. The deck is done with teak over fiberglass, and the hull to deck marriage is an internal hull flange, slightly raised bulwarks and then sealed and thru-bolted, and finally covered with a teak cap rail.
