Accommodations and Overview
The Catalina 36 is the one of the most popular sailboat designs ever built. The mid eighties boats offer a great value for your dollar. The interior boasts a large, comfortable interior, that sleeps 7 persons in three double berths and one single berth. The convertable U shaped dinette seats a crowd comfortably and the opposite sette can seat two with the table up, or convert to a single berth with the table down. The galley is sensibly layed out with ample counterspace, a double SS sink, and a large icebox with Adler Baurber refrigeration, and it is well positioned adjacent to the cockpit companion way. A large sit down nav station with a swiveling chair is situated to starboard as you enter the salon. The forward and aft cabins are well separated, the forward vee berth with a closing door, and the aft cabin with a privacy curtain. The head is forward and to port and is equipped with an ensuite shower, and manual toliet, and a sink with hot and cold pressure water.
The interior is well ventillated with overhead and side opening hatches forward and aft and additional cabin vents overhead. The interior cushions are a pleasent medium blue fabric with a small white pattern intermixed with the blue. Floors are teak and holy with carpeted sections and attractive throw rugs. The forward bulkhead is decorated with an attractive mirror to starboard. The interior is very well kept, and in excellent condition. The Catalina 36 is an well mannored cruising design that is quite pleasent to sail and easily handled by two persons.
