"Andante" is a  beautifully Hans Christian Christina 40 with 2 staterooms and a large salon! She is still owned by her original owner who bought her new in 1987 and has spared no expenses in keeping her in beautify condition all these years.  She has a modern, traditional style fin keel which makes her unique. She has been well maintained and upgraded through the years so she is ready to find new sailing adventures. She is extremely well built with a high level of comfort at sea providing a smooth ride and is a very manageable size.

Most designs are credited to Robert H. Perry, Harwood Ives, Scott Sprague and Tommy Chen. Boat production began in the early 1970s.

In the 1980s Hans Christian Yachts commissioned the designing of a new series of boats based on a more modern hull design with the goal of the "ultimate cruising sailboat." The end result was the Christina series with the 52 and 48 models designed by Doug Peterson and Scott Sprague designing 40 and 43 versions. Construction was done in Taiwan at Horng Bin Marine Yacht boat yard and in the early 1990s the molds and construction were moved to Thailand.

With its gorgeous interior, comfort, roomy throughout, absolutely immaculate and fully equipped with a well-known history, this cruiser is ready to sail!

Accommodations

The Christina 40 is a scaled down version of the Christina 43 with one less cabin. She sleeps four owners and guests in 2 staterooms, plus 1 dinette and 1 settee berth for a total of 6 berths. The master stateroom is forward with head, shower and queen-size berth. The salon features a "U" shaped dinette with teak dining table. The galley is an exceptionally large "U" shape with double stainless steel sink, pressure water, 12 cubic foot ice box with Adler Barbour refrigeration, large dish cabinets, 3 burner propane gimbaled stove, Litton and microwave. The decor is sold teak stave strips, groved white overhead and cabin inner sides enhanced with forest green velour upholstery. Fixed Lexan windows allow light into the galley/salon area for a bright and airy feeling to the interior. The interior is traditional in nature with more modern lines of the Hans Christian Christina series. Electronics: Raytheon Raystar 590 GPS, Raytheon radar, Lowrence depth sounder, Rochester speed/wind indicator. Sail inventory includes main, staysail and jib by UK sailmakers. The main is full batten. Headsails are furled by Hood Seafurl. "Andante" has been pampered by her owners with rigorous maintenance and improvements. The boat is in excellent conditions. The Hans Christian Christina series cutters are excellent quality, offshore cruisers with very heavy rigging and construction.
