Description
This beautiful and traditional Willam Garden designed ketch was purchased to do some extended cruising. Much of the work to make the boat a comfortable, solid, state of the art cruiser has been completed. The interiors and many of the mechanical systems have been gone through and upgraded over the last few years, but the owner's plans have changed.
Layout and Accommodations
This boat has three cabins and a total of ten berths, two new electric heads, one with tub/wet locker and the other with a full shower. Headroom is 6'3". All the overhead 12 volt lighting was replaced with new stailess steel fixtures with Halogen lights. The Halogen lights are more efficient and brighter than incandescent lighting. Every fixture has a three-way switch that controls two individual lights one white light and one red for preservation of your night vision. There are also all new liquid paraffin lanterns in every cabin. They produce a warm low light that is great when at anchor and you want to conserve power.
The aft stateroom has private head with sink and tub/wet locker, new custom queen centerline mattress, lots of storage all around bed and underneath, one hanging locker and one misc. locker that can be used as a pantry, L-shaped settee with more storage underneath, two aft transom windows, one hatch over bed, 3 portholes in cabin and 2 in head give lots of fresh air, new electric head with new switchable salt water or fresh water flushing system new macerator and new 20 gallon holding tank.
The pilothouse has so much going on. There are large windows on three sides which gives a 270-degree protected view of the ocean/anchorage, safe from sun, weather, wind, and sea. Also located here are the galley, a hydraulic steering station, chart table, dining settee, and engine compartment. There is storage below and behind the settee and the chart table expands to accommodate large charts.
The lower salon is so roomy the owner divided it in two. The starboard side has the staircase leading down from the pilothouse, an L-shaped settee with coffee table which converts into a double berth with more storage underneath, bookcase with drawers and cabinets, two portholes, one door which leads into the Pullman berth, and a center ceiling butterfly hatch. The port side of the salon has a desk with drawers and cabinets, a smaller settee with storage behind and underneath, a large shelf running the full length of the salon and four portholes, and a door that leads to the main head and a separate, full-sized shower. The head has two doors, one opening into the lower salon, the other into the Pullman berth.
The Pullman berth is located on the starboard side forward of the lower salon and across from the main head. There is one porthole and 4 doors, one leads to the lower salon, second one leads to the main head, the third one leads to the crew quarters and the fourth door opens into a full length double hanging locker. The bed is a little larger than a twin but expands to the width of a full size bed. There are drawers and cabinets along one side and more located below the bed.
The crew quarters are located at the bow of the vessel. There are upper and lower bunks, access to the chain locker and there is a doghouse located above. The doghouse is the second entrance. If you have a crew on board this allows them to enter and exit the vessel without disturbing you and your guests.
