Description
Hylas Yachts, built at the Queen Long Marine shipyard in Taiwan, have been producing innovative, high quality and award-winning sailboats for over 50 years. Designed by German Frers, who also designed Nauter's Swan, this is a strong, fast, and comfortable bluewater cruiser.
EROICA is hull 14 of a total build of 22 has had many upgrades and improvements INCLUDING new standing rigging and new hydraulic backstay completed August 2021 newer interior upholstery, dodger, and canvas (2021)and new teak deck completed 2017.
The Hylas 42 is a performance cruising yacht and performs exceptionally well in both very light air and heavy winds.
Hylas yachts are renowned for their strength, quality craftsmanship, seaworthiness and their ability to hold value. The Frers design for the Hylas-42 incorporates a bridge-deck layout for safety in heavy weather. The layout has the added benefit of creating a huge aft cockpit for entertaining, a spacious aft cabin, and the advantage of center-cockpit shelter when sailing under autopilot. It has had conscientious owners who have maintained its systems as will be immediately evident on boarding.
This one truly can cast off the lines and sail off to far off lands.

Amazingly for an aft cockpit design, she has an aft stateroom with a centerline queen with standup headroom in walkway. The roomy head is starboard with private access to owners cabin. Galley is to port with U-shaped dinette just forward of galley. The forward facing navigation station in ample with easy reach of electrical controls and electronics. Forward is a private guest cabin for two. Additional berths for 2 or 3 are available with the settee and convertible dinette.
