Description
The interior of this boat has been completely redone in modern earth tones and looks like a new boat. The layout is very roomy. The layout is like the layout of the newer 2855 Bayliners, with a dinette which seats four comfortably and which is completely separate from the forward berth. The layout was only made for three years and is nothing like the layout of all the other 26 and 27 foot boats which combine the dinette and forward berth. The engine has been well-maintained and has low hours. The outdrive has been upgraded to counter-rotating props. This is an exceptional buy. Also, there is an almost new trailer available for the boat which has been in the water exactly three times. Additional photos including photos of the trailer are available and can be emailed.
Accommodations and Layout
The interior has been completely redone in modern earth tones and looks like a new boat. All the upholstery and fabrics are new and there is a new maple floor about one year old. Table tops and countertops have been redone, replacing the formica with tile. In addition, all the windows were redone and resealed about two year ago.
Due to the wide beam the layout is what you normally see on a 27 or 28 foot boat with a separate dinette. It is NOT the typical 26 foot layout with the combination V-berth/dinette forward. There is a separate V-berth forward with a settee and hanging locker to port and a dinette to starboard further aft. The galley is also to port and further aft there is a head to starboard. The head has a marine toilet with holding tank and macerator and a shower. All the way aft under the cockpit is a large double berth.
The layout is amazing for a 26 foot boat and the upgraded interior makes it look like a nearly new 28 footer.

Deck and Hull
The cockpit is roomy and has room for a small crowd. The helm is to starboard and there is a large U-shaped seating area to port with a removable cocktail table. Further aft and down a step is the lower cockpit with additional seating. There is a bimini with side covers and a full cockpit enclosure. The canvas is in good shape, the eisenglass is fairly new and there are new privacy screens over the windows. All the upholstery is in good shape. Even the teak rails have been redone and the stanchions have been tightened and rebedded.
The bottom paint was done about two years ago but it has spent at least 18 months of that time out of the water, so the paitn should still be in very good condition.
Engine and Mechanical
The boat is powered by a Ford 460 marine engine. It is estimated that the engine has 500 hours. Single lever shifter/throttle. The outdrive was upgraded to a Volvo Penta model with counter-rotating props. It was serviced two years ago but the boat has been stored out of the water for most of that time. There has probably been about 10 hours of use since then. The engine has been well maintained and four years of maintenance records are available. It was given a thorough inspection and tune-up in April of 2003. Some of the work done includes:
- New water pump
- New oil cooler from OMC
- New theromstat and thermostat housing
- Overhaul of carbureter
- Inspection and replacement as needed of hoses and belts
- New impellor
- Inspection and cleaning of manifolds and risers
- Replacement of exhaust manifold and riser gaskets
- Inspection of spark plugs, wires, distributor, etc.
Additional Comments
A new painted trailer was purchased for the boat in 2002 for $6000 is also for sale. It has been in the water exactly three times and has been hosed off each time and looks brand new. It is a dual axle trailer with large tires and includes a bearing flush system.
