1989 Olson 25

MENTAL PHYSICS (formerly, "Zephyr") is a 1989 Olson 25. 

Olson designed and Ericson built, this is a performance racing sailboat and coastal cruiser. 

She has been exceptionally maintained. Re-rigged and re-powered w/ Yanmar 1GM inboard diesel engine with 100hrs.

The Yanmar has been maintained (easy to maintain!) and runs like a top.

Recent maintenance and improvements: 

• main bulkhead rebuilt 
• new standing rigging from Ballenger in 2018
• new running rigging in 2017 
• new boom-kicker, new vang and backstay cascades, in 2018 
• new primary winches (oversize Lewmar Evo) in 2018
• epoxy barrier coat on the bottom in 2016 
• cutless bearing for the prop shaft replaced in 2016
• new AGM battery
• new main from Pineapple Sails in Alameda in 2019

Not an O25 that can be raced ‘one-design,' but she can be raced PHRF. The one-design PHRF rating is 165, which can (and should, if you intend to race consistently) be improved by petitioning your local PHRF committee.
