Accommodations and Layout

The entry to the salon from the cockpit is through very wide sliding doors. The salon has a very spacious and open feeling due to the numerous large windows and the light-colored synwood interior. (The synwood interior is an optional upgrade over the standard teak.) Headroom is about 6'5".

To port there is an L-shaped sofa with a nice wood table. Further forward is the galley. To starboard are two chairs and the lower helm station. There is also some nice wood cabinetry for the large color TV/VCR, new CD/stereo and a new built-in icemaker. Everything is in excellent condition.

Forward and down three steps are the two statrooms and the head. The forward stateroom has a large walk-around double berth. The port stateroom has two twins, a full-sized dresser and lots of additional storage below the beds. The head is large and has a vac-u-flush toilet and a separate stall shower.

Galley

The galley is forward and to port but is up so that the cook can still be part of the party and can see out the large salon windows. Its wrap-around design is very functional, especially while under way and there is good counter space and storage. Features include:
  • Three burner electric stove with oven
  • Built-in Litton microwave oven
  • Double stainless steel sink with upgraded faucets
  • Garbage disposal (reported inop)

Electrical

The electrical system has been thoroughly upgraded within the last two years by the current owner.
  • 110 volt AC system
  • 12 volt DC system
  • 8 Kw Westerbeke generator
  • Two 8D house batteries (new)
  • Three starting batteries
  • Link 2000 Heart interface inverter (new)
  • 30 amp smart battery charger system and battery isolator (new)
  • Zap-stop to protect alternators
  • One of the alternators was recently replaced with a high output 130 amp alternator. The old alternator was rebuilt and is on board as a spare.

Deck and Hull

The Powerboat Guide describes the boat as being "built on an easy-riding modified-V hull with a fine entry". The bottom was last painted about two years ago but the diver reports that the paint is still in good condition.

The flybridge is quite large and has a full enclosure. There are three helm seats as well as two large bench seats and a nice wood table. The radar arch is very solidly made but can be folded down for low bridges or maintenance, a unique innovation which could be extremely valuable at times.

The cockpit is large with a lot of storage below. There is a transom door, a wide swimstep, a remmovable dive ladder for boarding which is much easier to use than the usual ladder and which can be stored below the cockpit to clear the swimstep, a large bait tank, four rocket lauchers/pole holders, a hot and cold water shower on the swimstep, and a washdown system.

Engine and Mechanical

The boat is powered by twin 375 hp Caterpillar 3208TA's. The engine room is immaculate and can be accessed three ways (through the salon floor, forward through the steps to the staterooms and head, and aft through the cockpit) for easier maintenance. The engine has been serviced every year by the current onwer. The last service was early in 2003.

Other features include an automatic Fireboy fire extinguishing system, 2" stainless steel drive shafts, a new electric dinghy davit, a Tank Watch level monitor for all tanks, and a heavy duty Maxwell windlass with up and down foot switches.

Additional Comments

This boat was an popular model with nearly 150 built during her production run. The owner has manuals for all of the equipment and full maintenance records during the time he owned the boat.

A nearly new 11'6" hard bottom Caribe dinghy and a new 15 hp four stroke Yamaha outboard engine are included, as well as a six-man Avon emergency lifraft which has just been serviced.
