Great Buy. Priced way under market. Clean boat with three cylinder Perkins which was completely rebuilt less than 200 hours ago. Fully interfaced Autohelm sailing instruments includes GPS plotter, autopilot and Sea Talk readouts with repeaters on bulkhead and on mast. During June of 1999 the bottom was painted, wood was varnished, gelcoat was redone and the transmission was overhauled. (It was working fine, but the owner felt it needed to shift a little smoother.)

This boat has a very large interior volume for its length. The main salon has a U-shaped galley to port at the bottom of the companionway, with a settee/berth further forward. To starboard is a large head with shower and a convertible dinette further forward. Forward is v-berth. Aft and extending under the cockpit is an athwartships double berth in a private owner's cabin. The cabin has room to stand with the door closed.

12 volt DC system with battery charger and two 4D batteries 110 volt AC system with plenty of outlets.

Main with lazy jacks, Hood roller furling with 155% headsail. Halyards are run back to cockpit.

Very large cockpit with walk-through transom with integral swim platform. Two pulpit seats in cockpit. Two coats of bottom paint in June of 1999. Improvements include foamed-in barriers in the bilge to prevent bilge water from flowing up the sides and out onto the sole when heeled over, solving a problem inherent with these boats, and installation of a separate shower sump and pumpout. MOB ring, pole and strobe light.

Original owner who runs a company which repairs and maintains over 85 diesel engines. He religiously changes the oil and filters and has used Mobil One synthetic oil since day one. After nearly 2000 hours the engine was still running perfectly when a stainless steel ball bearing failed and damaged some rocker arms. The engine was removed from the boat and completely rebuilt even though there was no indication that any work other than repairing the damage needed to be done. The engine runs extremely well with no smoke. The owner has also installed a governor which keeps the engine from revving at more than 2300 rpm and overhauled the transmission in June of 1999 because he felt there was a slight delay before it engaged after shifting.
