1995 Hunter 430

This vessel offers an extremely comfortable, innovative and user-friendly, performance cruiser. Her thoughtfully designed interior has a spacious salon and galley area, two double cabins and two heads, including a very comfortable master suite, and has plenty of natural light and ventilation. The large and unusual rounded cockpit is comfortable and surprisingly practical, making both sailing and entertaining a delightful experience. The main sheet on the integrated arch keeps the cockpit clear and the instrument pod easy to see while all lines are led aft to the cockpit under a cover and through jam cleats to keep the deck clear. No back stay is required with the fractional rig and swept-back spreaders and a full roach main with power halyard winch makes performance sailing almost effortless.

  This is a great example of this popular model as it is very well equipped and has been recently updated with new modern electronic, new standing rigging and much, much more. Those interested in a performance cruiser that offers a high level of comfort and luxury should definitely consider her.

The Hunter 430 is built to perform with style and comfort. She is fast, easy to sail, stable and comfortable. Thoughtful touches abound, like sail design that incorporates a fractional rig, swept-back spreaders and a full-roach main. This eliminates the need for a backstay and improves sail efficiency and ease of handling. The exterior design of the 430 include a wraparound windshield with cover, integrated mainsheet arch with instrument pod, two-tone non-skid deck, walk-through transom, and a huge cockpit with wheel steering. A slippery but stable hull design incorporates a bulb wing keel and a spade rudder. Below deck are the amenities that make Hunter famous. A huge salon with convertible dinette, gourmet galley and twin staterooms, each with enclosed head and shower. A tri-cabin floor plan is also available.

Remarks

The Hunter 430 is designed for easy, shorthanded sailing. Unlike conventional designs with large Genoas, the large mainsail is her main driving force. The fractional-rig 110% jib is small, which makes tacking upwind a breeze and the main is easily handled at the push of a button, with an electric main sheet/halyard winch. She also has all the modern amenities to maximize your enjoyment, whether underway or at rest with as comfortable interior as one is likely to find on any boat of this length.

Vessel Walk through

Starting forward is the large head and shower unit with a large overhead hatch. Aft in the forward stateroom is a queen-sized Pullman berth set to starboard. To port is a vanity unit with cushioned seat, closets and drawers, and a large hanging closet aft.

 The main salon is next aft with the galley set to port. The twin stainless steel sinks are forward, the propane stove in the center and the top-opening refrigeration & freezer units aft. There are plenty of Corian topped work surfaces and ample storage with many drawers and cabinets below as well as cabinets above. Opposite and to starboard is the C-shaped settee and dining table with a fixed double seat on the center line. Fore and aft of the dining table are storage cabinets as well as plentiful storage being provided below the settee.

 Aft of the dinette is the navigation station with a full sized forward facing chart table and cushioned seat with storage outboard and also below the chart table. Opposite and to port is a large head and separate shower stall with access doors into the saloon as well as the aft stateroom. In the aft stateroom we find a queen-sized berth that is most aft and athwart ships. A very large hanging locker is forward on the starboard side and on the port side there is a cushioned seat, more cabinet storage and access into the head.

Galley

The gourmet galley was designed for quick snacks or full entertaining. It features Corian countertops, 3 burner propane stove with oven, double stainless steel sinks, microwave, refrigerator with separate freezer, generous storage and lots of counter space. Hot/cold pressure water serves the galley, both heads and the cockpit shower.

• Propane: will fit 2 X 10 lb tanks fitted in vented propane locker.  Flexible neoprene delivery hose with pressure gauge, pressure regulator and safety, shutoff solenoid.

Rigging and Sails

Double spreader aluminum deck-stepped 7/8 B&R design mast with swept back spreaders and no permanent back stay.  Shroud chain plates are mounted outboard at hull/deck join which reduces compression loads of mast.  Smaller genoa allows for close sheeting angle and good windward performance.
