Construction
The Dana 24 is of a moderate traditional hull design w/a long keel and cut away forefoot and keel attached rudder. The hull is hand laid molded fiberglass reinforced Plastic (FRP). THe decks and cabin are uniformly molded FRP of sandwich construction with a plywood core. Interior furnishings are of singularly molded fiberglass and/or plywood fitted and laminated to the hull. the hull to deck seam is formed as a strong bulwark and is overlapped, bonded, sealed and mechanically fastened to the hull. Supporting bulworks, lingitudinal supports and cabin furnishings are of fiberglass and plywood and form the internal framing and structuring of the vessel. Each is laminaated to the hull along their respective lengths.
Engines
a 2001 Yanmar 2GM20F , fresh water cooled, 18 hp diesel engine. When last surveyed ( Sept 2004) the engine was reported in excellent condition.
Electrical
There are two(2)AGM 12 Volt batteries in two banks w/ a master switch isolator and a Trucharge 20 battery charger. A 110-volt AC shore power system is connected to a main breaker panel w/subsidiary breakers as well. There is a Alpine CD Stereo w/speakers in the cabin as well as Bose outdoor speakers in the cokpit

Deck and Rigging
Deck stepped aluminum mast w/tabernacle system. Aluminum main boom and wood bow sprit w/double rollers. There is a 22lb Delta Anchor w/ 75' 1/4" chain and 200 ' 1/2" nylon rode.there is also a Danforth anchor w/ chain and rode offof the stern w/ a stern anchor roller. There is a Harkin roller furling headsail. THe main travelor is aft of the tiller and there are lazy jacks on the main boom. The mainsail is in excellent condition and EZ JAX is installed with two reefs. There is a working jib also in excellent condition. All standing rigging is 1x19 SS wire a/bronze turnbuckles. There is a dodger with canvas covers for the isenglass.
Galley
There is a 10" deep SS sink w/pressure Hot and Cold fresh water, a large well insulated ice box and a gimballed two(2) burner propane stove and oven. A cover over the stove provides additional workspace along with a flip up counter forward of it. There are large galley lockers to hold supplies and utensils.
General Inventory
The are two(2) pumps 1 manual and 1 automatic. @ fire extinguishers, 4 Adult type II life vests, a boarding ladder, handheld horn, flare kit, an avon inflatable and 9Hp 4 stroke Nissan outboard.
Enclosed Head
The head has a teak locker for for towels and storage, a marine head, integral shower pan and a SS sink with a hand held shower faucet. Behind the head is a large wet storage hanger
