the build

The Palm Beach 50 is seen by many as the quintessential PB Motor Yacht with its sweeping sheer line and sporty, timeless style. They remain well sought after both new and as pre-owned vessels with exceptional reliability and resale value. The PB 50 was first introduced to the US market at the Newport International Boat Show in 2010. The judges voted her “Best New Powerboat” and judged her to have an "elegance of proportion and design" that is "sensational". A big boat that delivers performance and fuel economy with its lightweight composite material construction, the judges were just as impressed with its excellent fit and finish.

Built in Australia to the highest standards available, the factory enables all stages of construction to occur in one facility under the watchful eye of proprietor, Mark Richards. Utilizing solid works 3D design programs coupled with computerized CNC systems and state of the art tooling ensures precise construction. When not in the factory Mark doubles as a race-winning skipper.

Latest generation E glass, vinyl ester, epoxy resins and stitched multi-axial fabric over Corecell linear foam are used to provide a very strong, but lightweight hull and deck. All bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the hull and deck for superior strength and rigidity like a performance racing yacht. Each model is engineered with proprietary noise silencing materials and the exclusive Quiet Chine © hull to provide a tranquil environment while aboard.

the ride

Stability and agility are paramount and uncompromised. A trip offshore in rough conditions delivers superb performance with a fine bow entry and warped hull, providing outstanding fuel consumption and comfortable cruising speeds. Maneuverability and ease of handling comes through hydraulic steering, electronic gear selection and bow thruster.

All engine and ancillary equipment sit atop fully isolated and decoupled engine mounts to reduce noise and vibration. The engine room itself consists of loaded vinyl acoustic isolation panels, preventing noise from moving outside of the engine room into the boats living area.

The PB 50 is engineered with proprietary noise silencing materials and the exclusive Quiet Chine © hull to provide a tranquil environment while aboard.

the fit & finish

The internal fit out is not unlike that of a high tech racing yacht where the bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the hull and deck further reinforcing the strength and lightweight properties of the hull. A traditional finish dominated by polished Burmese teak in conjunction with handcrafted joinery and teak trimming. All the cabinet doors in cockpit are of gloss varnished teak, and teak deck.

Very few boat-builders in the modern age have given their products the style and finesse of the PB 50.

Superb fit & finish. Attention to detail and smart and stylish touches everywhere, which give you the feeling of expensive quality. A very pared back look which actually increases the luxury.

Burmese teak throughout, leather upholstery, larger tinted powered windows, every available space utilized perfectly for storage.
