Bob Nahm

Bob started sailing at age 5, attending sailing camps on Cape Cod and teaching sailing as a counselor for many summers. He also spent much time fishing on his father’s power boats in Montauk, NY. Bob owned many sailing and power boats, the last being a Catalina 470.

After a successful career in advertising data processing and as the CIO of a major advertising agency group, Bob retired in 2000 and spent several years cruising the Channel Islands with his wife and daughters.

For 14 years, he worked directly for Frank Butler at Catalina Yachts and performed a multitude of tasks including managing the factory dealerships in Marina del Rey and Channel Islands Harbor, supervised the rebuilding of the Channel Islands Boatyard, Channel Islands Landing Dry Storage and Marina. During that time, he was one of the top Catalina Yachts salesmen on the West Coast and has established a diverse list of very satisfied clients.

In 2015 he joined Seacoast of Santa Barbara to form Seacoast of Channel Islands LLC. Bob subsequently acquired Heritage Yacht Sales and Channel Islands Yacht Sales which gave Seacoast Yachts offices and presence from Santa Barbara to San Diego. In 2022, Bob acquired the majority ownership interest in Seacoast Yachts. Bob is a 23-year member of California Yacht Club and is a member of Ventura Yacht Club. Bob has been the President of the Channel Islands Harbor Foundation for the last 10 years. In 2021, Bob represented Central Coast Oceans Adventures in the purchase of the tall ship, Mystic Whaler, and was subsequently named to their Board of Directors. Bob recently partnered with the Santa Monica Bay Sailing Foundation to represent their donation boats of which help funds their mission of “Changing lives through sailing by fostering competition, self-reliance, and responsibility.”

Bob is dedicated to providing opportunities for the youth to experience and embrace the boating lifestyle. An avid sailor and power boater for over 50 years, Bob brings a wealth of professionalism, experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to yacht sales, whether it is working with a client on purchasing a sailboat or powerboat or listing and selling their current boat.

In January 2025, Bob was presented with the Merle Parke Award which has become one of the most prestigious honors that the California Yacht Brokers Association can bestow upon an individual and the list of previous winners is a who’s who of the California marine industry. The Merle Parke award is presented annually at the CYBA January dinner to an individual who has contributed unselfishly to the boating industry in California and has been presented since 1985 to a who’s who of the marine Industry.

Bob holds a Bachelors of Mathematics with honors and a Masters of Mathematics with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University
