Santa Barbara Crew Report: Fall 2021

Slips

Greg Weil: Guiding the Fleet

Greg Weil headshotGreg Weil took over as Business Manager for Seacoast of Santa Barbara, Inc. in April of this year.

Overseeing business operations for the Santa Barbara location, he welcomes your questions and feedback related to our day-to-day workings. Greg is dedicated to ensuring smooth transactions through a team approach that includes the whole Santa Barbara sales and office staff.

Favorite Listing: Albin 28 Tournament Express

Greg and Jan are buying this one for themselves! Once in a while, a boat comes along that makes you do a double-take, and this potential listing made him think that some time on the water with the grandsons should be a priority. Once the captains have their act together, learning to put the boat in the slip and mastering the systems, they’ll head up and down the coast and explore the islands!

Vicki Van Hook: Underway in Washington

Vicki Van Hook headshotFor the last several months, Vicki Van Hook has been working from Gig Harbor, WA, while spending time with her new granddaughter, Scout.

With an established and successful yacht sales career in Santa Barbara, Vicki has found that much can be accomplished remotely to help her clients achieve their boating dreams. She continues to offer the highest standard of professional service while spending her time in a pristine boating environment, inspired by beautiful wooden classics, sexy sleek speedsters, unique harbors, anchorages, and the beautiful Pacific Northwest wildlife.

Favorite Listing: Multiple!

Each deal has different aspects that bring joy to Vicki – whether it’s a relationship with a long-time client, a gorgeous vessel, or an interesting story. So far this year, she has enjoyed selling “Hale Kai,” a McKinna 48, for the third time, as well as selling a Riviera 47 for the second time. Many years ago, she helped the buyer of the second Riviera sell the well-known Fleming 53, “Serengeti” in Santa Barbara, and this year, helped him purchase a stunning Viking 61.

Michael Hanrahan: Forging Ahead

Michael Hanrahan headshotMichael Hanrahan is approaching his one-year anniversary as a Sales Agent at Seacoast Yachts. With a background in documentary film production, Michael can make a boat listing come to life with professional-quality imagery and drone video that offers a unique perspective when evaluating a boat. The boating lifestyle is so visual, and it’s a big plus to capture that on film and use it to help sell great boats. Recently, Michael finished a fun short film featuring Seacoast client, Jay Harkrider and his wife, Bethany, and their 1-year-old daughter, Grady, which you may have seen in the company-wide September Seacoast Post.

Outside of Seacoast Yachts, Michael is finishing updates to a 2001 Mako 25′ with twin Yamaha 200hp in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico that he bought in Florida during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic. He is counting the days to get back down there to experience the incredible yellowfin tuna fishing offshore in that boat!

Favorite Listing: 53′ Bayliner 4788

Michael is excited about this recently listed Bayliner 4788 Pilot House Motoryacht, which offers comfort, elegant traditional design, and many luxury features. A Marina 1 Slip in Santa Barbara Harbor is also available for transfer with this boat!

T. J. Weisbecker: New Crew

Tj HeadshotT. J. Weisbecker is the newest addition to the Seacoast team.

He caught the bug for boats in his youth during a week-long family cruising excursion from Seattle to Vancouver Island and back, aboard a 46′ Cheoy Lee trawler. When he was ten, T. J. became the youngest registered junior sailor to complete ASA 101 training out of Marina Sailing in Channel Islands Harbor.

Today, he and his partner enjoy caring for, and even occasionally sailing, their Hunter 33.5, “Chotu,” (meaning “little one” in Hindi), which they acquired with the help of Seacoast Yachts in 2017. Before joining Seacoast this past July, T. J. taught high school ethics.

T. J. works out of both our Santa Barbara and Channel Islands Harbor offices.

Favorite Listing: 42′ Endeavour 1990

One of the most beautiful center cockpits he’s ever seen, T. J. actually tried (unsuccessfully) to convince his own family to buy this stunning, well-maintained cruiser! Built as strong and sturdy as they come, this sailing yacht has gorgeous teak top rails surrounding the boat, and T. J. loves the sleek blue hull and red boot.

Katy Zweifel: Standing Watch

Katy Zweifel headshotKaty Zweifel joined the Santa Barbara crew in January as the Santa Barbara Office Manager and Seacoast Yachts Marketing Assistant. A Central Coast native, she has always been a “water person,” and developed an interest in boating through Girl Scouts and the Morro Bay Yacht Club. With a background in communications & marketing, she joined Seacoast after seven years of teaching high schoolers in San Luis Obispo.

Katy has enjoyed diving into exciting projects for Seacoast, including managing the recent website migration, re-designing the display board outside the Santa Barbara office, and exploring ways to better serve clients through marketing and communications efforts via social media, email, and boating publications. She loves spending her day enjoying the harbor view from the office and interacting with Seacoast clients and visitors. Please stop by the office and say hello!

Favorite Listing: 25′ Olson 1989

This listing, sold by Sales Agent Michael Hanrahan, was one of the most memorable for Katy since starting at Seacoast. The buyer and his teenage son seemed so excited to purchase the boat, and Katy is glad they’ll be able to make memories from their sailing adventures as a family.
