What a great experience we had working with Vicki and her team in acquiring an upwind slip in Santa Barbara Harbor Marina #1. She knows everything and everybody in this awesome community and her vast experience made the purchase smooth as silk. And her help didn’t end there. Once we had the perfect slip, Vicki assisted us and gave us advice in finding the perfect boat for our 30′ slip. She made sure all the paperwork for the City Transfer and even the Coast Guard documentation was filled out properly and ready to go.
I see now how important it is to have a professional on your team when it comes to buying a boat or slip in the Santa Barbara Harbor and I highly recommend Vicki and Seacoast Yacht Sales!
We are very grateful for your help and guidance. Love our slip!
The Coastal Craft 45 is built in British Columbia featuring an aluminum planing hull and pod drives.
Basha and I want to thank you for all your help in selling Paloma and her slip! Certainly, with all your experience, much of this is routine for you but not so for us. It went pretty smoothly on balance, and we certainly got more than I expected with your help on the pricing! Thanks!
Thanks again, and I hope I get the opportunity to recommend you to a buyer or seller in the future.
I am very pleased with Seacoast Yachts and Rick Christensen regarding the recent sale of my Pacific Seacraft, Dana 24. I chose Seacoast because their doors both in Channel Islands Harbor and in Santa Barbara seemed to be open far more often than other local brokers. I found Rick to be very knowledgable, professional and realistic as to the marketability of my boat. When an offer did come in I always felt I was in capable hands and felt Rick was the right person to close the deal. I can enthusiastically recommend Rick Christensen and Seacoast Yachts.
When we began the journey of looking for a yacht our good friend suggested we contact Rick Christiansen at Seacoast Yachts. So glad we did! Rick has been phenomenal in our opinion and we highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy or sell a boat. He’s very experienced about everything having to do with boats and has such a great sense of humor! He literally made it fun for us to go yacht shopping and we laughed along the way!
Rick took the time upfront to understand our expectations; experience level; wants and needs; the whole kit and caboodle! With those things in mind, he narrowed our search down to a few models and then guided us to just the right boat! We are so happy with our 2004 Beneteau 473.
One of the things we truly liked about Rick was that he was not afraid to give us his opinion, yet let us decide issues for ourselves after all the facts were in. That was important to us since we didn’t have the experience with a boat quite like the 473.
Another thing that impressed us about Rick was up and down the coast, he seemed to know everyone at the brokerage firms and also the marinas. He was on the phone getting things done for us and then when it was time to make an offer and complete the purchase, he was right there every step of the way. He insured that we got the boat we wanted — at a fair price!
If you are in the market to buy or sell a boat, please take our word for it and get Rick Christiansen on your side! You won’t be disappointed. We guarantee it!

Rick and I go back a few years. He sold our Perry 47 Cutter in 2010 and when it was time to return to boats, I naturally called him to assist.
After listening to our wants and needs, Rick set up showings of boats we thought would meet our requirements. Rick knew our style and taste, knew what would meet our experience level. He never once showed us something that didn’t fit our parameters and/or budget. We decided fairly quickly and needed to move even quicker getting through the process of buying. Rick got it, and arranged haul-out, survey, including engine survey w/oil samples, and sea-trials on the same day!! Not my first rodeo, and I’ve never seen the process go so fast and smoothly. Rick managed all promptly and with professionalism. Delivery was done with detail and consideration.
That’s the way boat buying should go. With the right salesman, who understands the “art of the deal,” the processes involved, and the understanding that a “good deal” is where both buyer and seller are happy at the conclusion. Rick Christensen IS that right guy.
You guys are the best! Tom appreciates all you did to make it a successful and happy sale/sail. — Happy Seller

I want to write to tell you how happy we were with Vicki Van Hook. She helped us sell our classic wooden Ketch that had been in our family for 30 years. It was an emotional experience, moving from one life phase to the next and Vicki was supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend her to anyone.
It’s been a real pleasure working with Vicki at Seacoast Yachts. I live in New England and I recently purchased a small New England built 15′ 10″ wooden Haven 12.5 sailboat. Even though I am certain the sale of my little sailboat has been tiny compared to all of the yachts Seacoast represents, I feel as though I was treated no differently than they would on the sale of their largest yacht.
Thank You Vicki Van Hook! I would do business with you again in a heartbeat!
I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to make this dream become a reality. As much as I thought I’d love it, it’s even more wonderful. You are a goddess! Please keep in touch. Your new yachting pal, Karen
“This is the second boat I have bought through Seacoast and both times have been a great experience.”
Successful joint sale with Seacoast of Channel Islands Craig Watkins representing the seller and Seacoast of Santa Barbara Vicki Van Hook representing the buyer.
I really can’t say enough positive things about my boat purchasing (and selling) experience with Seacoast Yachts and Vicki Van Hook, in particular. This is the 2nd boat I have purchased with Vicki and each has been without hassle or surprises. And yet, boat buying can be a tricky business. Not every broker is a pro. But Vicki meets such criterion. She is the consummate professional. Cautious and guarded when necessary; positive and encouraging always. She helped all along the way, from negotiating with the seller, to identifying a trucking company to bring the boat to Santa Barbara (from Portland), and continues to work with me to find the right slip for my new boat. Bottom line, if you are considering the purchase or sale of a boat in Santa Barbara, do yourself a favor and work with Vicki and her team at Seacoast. Excellence all the way!
Since the death of my husband last August, we have listed our boat with Craig Watkins. During the entire time, Craig was so understanding and patient in his explanations, advise, and consistently prompt responses to my many phone calls and emails. The boat just sold, and I am thrilled. There was much paper work in the closing as the original registration was lost; Craig didn’t miss a beat and made sure all went smoothly. He is the greatest and I will certainly refer any friends who might be selling their vessels to him.
Vicki Van Hook recently represented us on the purchase of our Beneteau 361, the “Hunny Bunny”. We had been searching for the right boat for almost a year when this deal presented itself. During our long search, Vicki was supportive, understanding, and never pressured us. We even backed out of a sale in Los Angeles after the survey uncovered some issues. Vicki was 100% behind us and was never pushy.
We strongly recommend her as the person to go to in Santa Barbara for a boat sale or purchase.
Vicki and the crew at Seacoast were great at finding the exact boat we wanted. Vicki even drove us to Oxnard to pick up the boat. Everything worked out well. Thanks for everything.
I could not be more pleased with the excellent service I received from Bob Nahm and team at Seacoast Yachts in Channel Islands Marina. Bob recently handled the sale of my Catalina 30 that he had originally sold me over 10 years ago. Both transactions were handled with great professionalism that left me feeling completely satisfied. The sale was a surprisingly quick and seamless process. I recommend anyone looking for a great experience buying or selling a boat to contact Bob at Seacoast Yachts.
Many thanks for all your excellent help. We are very pleased with our purchase and are making some nice improvements to Viva.
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! As first time boat shoppers looking for a liveaboard, we really didn’t know what we were doing before we came in to see Vicki at Seacoast. From the start, Vicki was great at helping guide us through the process and was patient in explaining everything that we needed to be thinking about when looking at boats. She also worked hard to put together the best deal to meet our particular needs, and thought outside the box to help us find the most boat for our budget. She held our hands through the whole process and was patient with our many questions and unexpected visits. All in all, we couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!
Vicki, first I want to thank you for your help in the sale of Carpe Diem; your attention to detail and professionalism was appreciated; I will refer anyone who is buying or selling in the future. Also want to thank the buyer for buying and hope she uses and enjoys the boat.
We have done business with Vicki Van Hook and Seacoast on four slip and sail/power boat transactions over the past 12 years, and the results always met or exceeded our expectations. Boating is a fun hobby, though the associated business of buying/selling/slip management can be risky and frustrating. Seacoast employs the right experts that cover all these areas with a cheerful attitude, solid experience, professionalism and high ethics.
Vicki Van Hook and the team at Seacoast were great in making sure a somewhat complicated purchase of an out-of-town motor yacht and in-town 50′ slip on R-dock in Marina 1 went smoothly. Despite a few curves that were thrown in by the sellers of our boat, the process went smoothly and efficiently. We were kept informed, and other members of the Seacoast group pitched in when necessary. We cannot say enough about how professionally and competently the transaction was handled by Seacoast. We would recommend them to anyone for selling or buying a boat and, of course, the ever-present need to find a slip for the boat.
Greg Weil and Seacoast Yachts were instrumental in helping me achieve one of my life’s most treasured goals – the purchase of a full displacement yacht for live aboard purposes. Greg was patient when I was unable to make a decision, and thorough in searching for the best yacht in my price range. Greg had his finger on the pulse when it was time to procure a slip in Santa Barbara Harbor, and oversaw the surveying process personally, which any boat buyer will tell you is critical in taking that final step towards the actual purchase. I couldn’t have done it without Greg at Seacoast Yachts.
I have had the pleasure of working with Vicki over the course of more than a decade. She helped me sell a boat some 12 years ago and I was truly impressed how she advised and guided me through the process. Most importantly, the integrity she showed through the process really impressed me. So, many years later, the boat bug bit again and without hesitation I asked Vicki to represent me as the buyer’s broker. I enjoyed searching the Internet for boats myself, but once I found a boat of interest I turned to Vicki. She would set up the appointment and arrive with all the comps and data I needed. Vicki is professional, knowledgeable, honest and above all, a really sweet person!
We bumped into Vicki Van Hook several years ago when we were first creating our fantasy dream of having a boat in Santa Barbara. She has been incredible in helping us narrow down our dream to one that could become reality, and find literally the perfect boat. Her knowledge of the industry, her attention to detail and her willingness to help with the smallest of items is so incredible. Having been in sales myself, I would rate Vicki at the absolute top of the pack. But she is so much more than a sales person. She is part mechanic, part concierge, and friend. She made the whole sales experience such a dream process and we love her and all of the Seacoast staff.
